Forecast: Wintry mix hits region
A wintry mix is causing havoc across the tri-state.
News 12 meteorologists say minor inconveniences attributed to the snow are making for sloppy roads and sidewalks.
Slushy and icy conditions will be primary concerns. Snow will eventually begin mixing to sleet and rain throughout the remainder of the day.
The rain will then fall through 8 p.m., melting and washing away any snow from the morning. This will make for soggy conditions across the borough, and puddles can cause flooding in poor drainage areas.
Up to an inch of rainfall is expected for the remainder of the storm. After periods of moderate rainfall, the sky then clears into the night.
Wednesday will see highs around 39 degrees and lows around 29.
The rest of the work week should see sunny to partly sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid- to upper-30s.
