? A once depressed Fort Greene street is undergoing a revitalization thanks to a business partnership.
The Myrtle Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) was created about a year ago with the mayor?s office to support new businesses in the area. The BID also helps improve sanitation services and eliminate graffiti. As a result, one shop owner says she has noticed increased foot traffic and more Fort Greene residents shopping close to home instead of going to Manhattan.
Local leaders say they hope the BID will continue to support unique shops and invest in the area.
