As violence continues to rise across the city, the Long Live King Kobe foundation is hosting a healing session aimed to help and support anyone affected by acts of violence.
One Brooklyn family decided they wanted to create an event that would show an outpouring of love to others and the entire community. This comes after the death of their loved one, Tyler Nicholis, who was tragically stabbed to death last year.
“I’m not going to rest until I try my best to help these boys in the community.  Because if I can help one young man in the streets of Brooklyn so he can know picking up a knife, a gun, taking someone else’s life is not worth it. There’s something else. You were brought here for another reason. Not for that,” said Sherma Chambers, Tyler Nicholis’ mother.
Chambers says she hopes to help combat the issue of violence. Family of Nicholis shared their experiences and reflected on his life, which they say was cut short.
The organization is also selling merchandise that will help to raise proceeds towards their cause and bring awareness to their mission.
