Friends and family attended a memorial service today for a 73-year-old Prospect Heights woman burned alive in an elevator. Deloris Gillespie was set on fire in her building's elevator on Dec. 17. Police arrested Jerome Isaac after he turned himself in, and have charged him with arson and first-degree murder. Services were held at the First AME Zion Church, where loved ones reflected on Gillespie's life in the community. "She helped everyone, fed everyone just like a mom, but she didn't act like a mom," said friend Violet Young.
