Friends and family gathered today to bid farewell to a Bronx priest who co-founded a major community outreach program. Rev. Ned Murphy helped start Part of the Solution (POTS), a non-profit group that provides food, clothes and addiction counseling to residents across the borough. The organization has handed out nearly 4 million meals and has grown into the largest emergency food provider in The Bronx. "That was his first goal," says POTS co-founder Tim Boon. "To provide a stable family environment for young people to get off the street, a place that would forgive them for their mistakes." Family members say they hope Murphy's work will continue to inspire future community activists. BX food bank celebrates 30th anniversary
