A smoothie shop in Prospect-Lefferts Garden is serving some refreshing drinks with unique names.
The Brooklyn Greenery is home to smoothies such as "The Usual Suspects" and "Hawaiian Sunrise." The owners are lifelong residents of Prospect-Lefferts Garden and felt the area needed a healthy option.
Co-owner Jason Young says instead of spending $6 on a burger, people can come in to the shop and get a thick, healthy smoothie with kale, spinach and fruit.
The shop opened in January and already has a steady flow of regular customers who say the smoothies are delicious.
Young and his business partner John August say they're serving up much more than just juices and smoothies. They want the shop to become a meeting place for the surrounding community and hope it will brighten up the area.
