The construction along Fulton Street has affected the businesses in the area for two years, but an end is finally in sight.
The Department of Design and Construction hopes to finish the road portion of the project by Thanksgiving, turning Fulton Street back into a two-way street. The construction has already faced major delays, and many say it will all be worth it.
"It?s [going to] stop how people perceive Fulton Street on this end,? says local Dale Charles. ?It?s going to uplift business.?
A local restaurant owner and grocery store owner have both reported losing large percentages of their business due to the loud and distracting construction zone.
The DDC has plans to plant trees, put up new lighting and redo the sidewalks after the winter.
