Some funding is going toward helping young Brooklyn residents get back on their feet following jail time.
State Sen. Jesse Hamilton teamed up with the Brownsville Community Justice Center to create "Back to Basics: A Resource Guide for Formerly Incarcerated."
Hamilton says the pamphlet can link families to everything from legal and education assistance to health and employment services.
At least $200,000 in state funding is also being set aside to connect young people with technology jobs.
