Family and friends said goodbye Friday to a Brooklyn toddler who was allegedly killed by her father.
The victim, 3-year-old Ginelis Jimenez, died last week after being found unconscious and severely injured in the Ocean Hill apartment occupied by her parents, 23-year-old Kimberly Centos and 24-year-old Michael Jimenez.
The girl?s father was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, while Centos faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child.
Centos? aunt, Mayda Centos, says Jimenez admitted that he beat the child to death. Now, she says the family is demanding justice for the little girl.
?We're not even asking for the death penalty?? she says. ?We just want life in prison.?
The funeral for the young victim comes as the Brooklyn District Attorney?s Office considers filing new charges against Centos. Investigators claim she stood by as her boyfriend beat the young girl to death.
The couple?s second child, a 1-year-old boy, was also allegedly a victim of child abuse. During a hearing last Friday, a judge prohibited Centos from seeing her son.
