A funeral was held Friday for a teen shot to death on a NYCHA rooftop last week.
Friends and family remembered Ihouma Timothy Uchanma as a positive person who was always smiling. Loved ones were shocked by his mysterious death.
Police say Uchanma was found on Dec. 17 shot in the chest on a rooftop at Bed-Stuy's Brevoort Houses, where he lived.
Family members say Uchanma planned to join the Air Force next year.
"I still have hope. I still kept turning around, hoping that he'll open the door," says Toni Koroma-Uchanma, Ihouma's mother.
Koroma-Uchanma says she is appreciative of the NYPD's effort to solve the case, even though they have no leads. She says she will not give up until her son's killers are brought to justice.
"As a parent, as a mother, I will fight for my kids and that their life, whether it meant anything to anyone, it meant everything to me," says Koroma-Uchanma.
