Gravesend girl in need of kidney to get Six Flags VIP treatment
A 10-year-old girl from Gravesend who has been suffering with chronic kidney disease received a special surprise Thursday.
Six Flags Great Adventure offered VIP tickets to Khadijah Sabir and her family. It was one of her wishes on the National Kidney Registry.
Khadijah's mom was tested and was a match for her daughter, but then doctors realized her mother is pre-diabetic and unable to donate. Her father has high blood pressure and doesn't qualify either.
Khadijah, a fifth-grader at P.S. 177, will be on dialysis until she can find a donor. Anyone who would like to learn more about becoming a donor can visit her page on the National Kidney Registry site.
