A transit-advocacy group says the intersection of Flatbush and Washington avenues is a danger to pedestrians and is calling on the state to take action.
Transportation Alternatives says it found that half of the drivers going by the intersection travel at speeds faster than the 30 miles per hour speed limit.
?It's not like New York City can't control this, or like it's just happening to us,? says one member of the group. ?We can control it.?
The group is urging the state to install speed-enforcement cameras and redesign streets in the area. It is also asking that the NYPD delve into the speeding epidemic, find underlying causes and help reduce them.
