The heat and humidity is expected to stick around all week. Storm chances increase by Thursday into Saturday.
An AIR QUALITY ALERT remains in effect through 11PM tonight, with a possibility of another alert being issued tomorrow. A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect through 8PM on Wednesday.
LATEST ON BERYL: Beryl has weakened to a tropical depression and the latest track has it staying well northwest and west of our area by Thursday afternoon. We're not expecting a direct hit from this storm. However, some tropical moisture will interact with a cold front Thursday into Friday bringing scattered tropical downpours to our area.
It's too soon to tell exactly how much rain we'll receive. It all depends on how quickly this storm moves out and if it stalls into parts of the weekend. The biggest concern will be localized flooding for poor drainage and low lying areas. On the plus side, this is beneficial rain that will help with our current drought situation.
TONIGHT: Warm and humid. Lows near 76. Patchy fog is possible late, mainly along the water.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny, hot and humid. Highs near 90, feeling like 95-100. Pop-up storms expected to stay away from us. Lows down to 77 with a line of showers and storms possible after midnight.
THURSDAY: Morning showers/downpours give way to a partly cloudy, hot, and very humid afternoon. Highs again near 90, feeling like 95+. Lows near 75.
FRIDAY - POSSIBLE STORM WATCH: Lots of leftover moisture may funnel up a narrow area that could impact us throughout the day with tropical downpours. This is a very fickle forecast and expect some adjustments over the next couple of days. Highs near 81. Lows near 73.
SATURDAY: Depending on how fast the front moves out of our area, lingering downpours are still possible, especially early. Highs near 85. Lows near 74. SUNDAY: Who's ready for heat wave #3? Back to hazy, hot and humid with highs up to 93, feeling like 95+. Lows near 77.
EARLY NEXT WEEK: It might feel even hotter than this current heat wave. Highs approaching the middle 90s, feeling like 100. Lows near 80.
