Heat keeps Bed-Stuy residents out of Brower Park
Throughout the borough, residents are seeking ways to keep cool in the face of some of the warmest temperatures this summer.
The crowd at Brower Park in Bedford-Stuyvesant is much smaller than usual as people seek cooler destinations, residents say.
A few kids say they turned out only to find there weren't many friends to play with.
Those who did brave the heat say the most important way to battle the hot temperatures is to drink plenty of water.
"Don't work a lot," says neighborhood resident Isiah McBride. "Always keep a bottle of water next to you, and try to stay cool. Don't play a lot of basketball. One or two games is good."
Meteorologists predict that temperatures will fall back down into the high 80s for the weekend.
