A hit-and-run victim is on a mission to find the driver who hit her.
Police are looking into the matter, but Jennifer Wood says she was not going to sit idly by, waiting for the investigation to unfold. She took it upon herself to track down surveillance video showing the moments leading to to the violent crash on Jan. 6.
The video shows Wood jogging on Fulton Avenue. Then, as she crosses Ashland Place, a black Subaru makes a fast right turn and hits her.
"I got knocked to the ground very violently. I was in shock. I was in a lot of pain," says Wood.
Wood says the male driver stepped out for a second, but then got back in the car and drove away. The crash left her with a broken hand.
Despite all of the pain she is in, Wood considers herself lucky that her injuries were not worse. She says she is using her second lease on life to bring the driver to justice.
