The city's Department of Housing Preservation and Development placed a mobile office in East New York last month to help residents find affordable housing and resolve landlord disputes.

It's open now at the corner of Pitkin and Euclid avenues three days a week -- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

On Feb. 1, it will move between Liberty and Pennsylvania avenues and Pitkin and Pennsylvania avenues and remain open five days a week.

The pilot program is expected to expand across all five boroughs, according to city officials.

The program aims to benefit residents like Clayton Blake, who lives in Section 8 housing.

Blake was having trouble trying to find a new, affordable place to live, he says, until the mobile office steered him toward an affordable housing website.

"They put me on this website called Housing Connect, and I'm going to give that a try and see how that works out for me," Blake says. "Having information always makes a person feel more at ease."
