Hundreds of people were forced to fend off the hot weather without electricity in Parkchester Thursday.
According to Con Edison, the power was restored at around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning. Officials say The Bronx has been lucky compared to other boroughs, which that they say have suffered worse outages during the heat wave.
Con Edison recommends that everyone do their part in preventing future outages by setting air conditioners no lower than 78 degrees, using energy saver options when available and keeping all non-essential appliances turned off.
