A gentleman's club in Hunts Point has been forced to temporarily shut down this week after being cited for having unlicensed security guards on it premises.Since Club Heat opened its doors in October 2011, several shootings, including one resulting in a fatality, have erupted outside of the establishment. Local community leaders say the club should remain closed. Rafael Salamanca, of Community Board 2, says he has received numerous complaints about the ongoing violence surrounding the club. "I personally believe that they should be closed down and not be permitted to open up again," says Robert Crespo, of Community Board 2. Board members say the strip club had promised it would make changes like hiring a private security firm and installing more cameras. So far, they say Heat has not made changes to help improve safety. The owner of the club is expected to appear in court Monday.
