Investigators returned to the house where an Ansonia mother was killed and her 1-year-old daughter was taken.
Police were seen at the home Monday and would only provide minimal details about what brought at least a half-dozen state police and Ansonia police cars back to the scene.
They told News 12 they were back at the scene doing follow-ups for their investigations, and wouldn't say specifically what they were looking for.
Several investigators were seen going into the home wearing gloves, and walking out with paper bags. At least one K-9 was also brought inside.
Police say Vanessa Morales was last seen Nov. 29 at a relative's house and it was four days later when the search began for her.
Police responded to child's Myrtle Avenue home for a welfare check after Vanessa's mother didn't show up for work. Inside, they found Christine Holloway beaten to death and her child gone.
Holloway worked at Bright Morning Star Child Care in Bridgeport. Her obituary says, "As a day care educator, she loved working with children, especially with the babies. She had the patience of a saint and would do anything for anyone." She was also a parishoner of St. Andrew Church and a member of the Catholic women's organization, the Columbiettes.
Holloway's funeral is set for Wednesday morning in Bridgeport. She'll be laid to rest afterward in Trumbull. She was the oldest of five children and the first in her family to graduate from college.
