Two Islamic support groups banded together on Saturday for its annual Day of Dignity.

The Islamic Relief USA nonprofit and Muslim Women's Institute for Research and Development gave back to over 1,000 people suffering from poverty, offering different essential items from food, clothes, and toiletries.

"It gives us a chance to connect,” said Dr. Nurah Amat’ullah, the Muslim Women's Institute for Research and Development founder. “It gives us a chance to demonstrate that aspect of Islam that is about serving."
