Libraries across the five boroughs are celebrating Banned Book Week by making sure New Yorkers have access to those books.
'Books for All: Protect the Freedom' is an initiative that challenges other states across the country that have banned nearly 700 books this year alone. Every two months, the New York Public Library releases a banned book for free on the Simply-E app for all readers to check out virtually. Anyone across the country can download the books through that app without a library card.
