A Long Island-based artist honored Kobe Bryant by painting a mural across the street from the Barclays Center.

Efren Andaluz III made the mural at Pacific and Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn.

Bryant, a former basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers, was killed in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26 alongside eight others, including his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant.

“I think ‘Mamba,’ ‘The Black Mamba,’ which is Kobe, is a motivational person and at the same time, he’s a hard-working person,” said Andaluz. “This is just a statement to show what hard work and dedication looks like and hopefully it aspires the youth to create, to motivate, to play basketball harder and to go harder at whatever jobs that they’re doing in their life.”

He plans to add Kobe’s daughter to the mural, as well as the names of the other helicopter crash victims.
