Democratic candidate Alan Maisel won a special election Tuesday for a seat in the 59th state Assembly District.
Maisel claimed 85.33 percent of the vote to defeat Republican Ronald Haugstaffer and Conservative Alice Gaffney.
The three were running for the seat left vacated by Frank Seddio, who was elected to a Surrogate Court judgeship.
