A man is facing charges for three stabbings, one of them a possible hate crime, in Brooklyn.
Police arrested 26-year-old Keny Rochelin, of Manhattan, shortly after he allegedly stabbed two people in Prospect Park Wednesday around 11:30 p.m.
Police said Rochelin approached a man who was jogging on a path near Lincoln Road and East Lake Drive. Rochelin allegedly pulled out a knife and tried to stab the victim in the face. The victim put his hands up to defend himself, resulting in a stab wound to his hand.
A little while later, another man said the suspect came up to him near Parkside and Ocean avenues and demanded his property. Police said the suspect took the victim's wallet and then stabbed him in the stomach before taking off.
Both joggers were taken to Kings County Hospital and were listed in stable condition.
Police linked Rochelin to the stabbing of a Hasidic man in the back in Crown Heights on Feb. 10 because of clear surveillance video in that attack.
Rochelin faces charges of attempted murder as a hate crime, aggravated harassment as a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon. He could face additional charges.
