Residents in Manhattan Beach are resorting to their own security measures in response to a slew of muggings and break-ins since this past spring.
After four robberies in as many days, residents and community leaders enlisted undercover guards on foot and two security cars. They are also planning to install security cameras throughout the community, but some residents say those would be an intrusion.
?Taking security precautions is important especially for a lot of the older people in the neighborhood, but then if it's 24-hour security cameras, it's like Big Brother is watching,? says Franco Frassetti.
The community hasn?t reported any recent crimes since they implemented their security measures.
