With Mayor Michael Bloomberg expected to announce his intention to seek a third term in office, many Brooklyn residents are saying they favor the move.
Bloomberg reportedly will make the announcement at a news conference Thursday. The mayor is expected to face some resistance to his plan, which would require revising the city's 15-year-old term limits law. The law only allows elected officials to serve two four-year terms.
"To me, to my knowledge, he's been doing an excellent job, so I endorse him to run for a third term,? says Dan Bardwell, of East New York.
Bloomberg will reportedly seek to change term limits through City Council legislation and not a citywide vote. City voters passed term limits in 1993 and 1996.
