Mom claims bus co. stranded child with cerebral palsy
A Bushwick mom says her daughter, who has severe cerebral palsy, has been repeatedly stranded by a bus company.
Tonya Little-John says her 9-year-old daughter, Kennadi, can't speak and endures up to seven seizures a day.
Little-John says she spoke with several people at Happy Child Transportation, a vendor for the Department of Education, after buses failed to pick her daughter up before school.
In another instance, Little-John says a bus driver was playing loud rap music, which could trigger one of Kennadi's seizures.
Happy Child says its drivers passed city inspections in October and referred News 12 to the Department of Education for questions about the bus route.
The DOE says it made several adjustments to the route and is working with the family and the bus company to meet Kennadi's needs.
