The New York City Rent Guidelines Board is holding meetings across the city this week to address increases in cost to rent-stabilized apartments.
The board reported 2015 and 2016 saw rent freezes for one-year leases and 2017 saw rent hikes of up to 2 percent.
According to published reports, landlords in New York City want to increase rent by at least 7 percent.
The Rent Guidelines Board held a preliminary vote back in April and approved a 0.75 percent to 2.75 percent increase for rent-stabilized one-year leases.
The board also approved a 1.75 percent and 3.75 percent increase for two-year leases.
A final vote is scheduled to take place on June 26.
