Nassau police: 4 Queens men targeted ATM users withdrawing money
Police in Nassau have arrested four Queens men they say targeted ATM users withdrawing money.
According to court documents, the first theft happened on Jan. 11 at the Chase Bank on Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park. Police say the men eyed a victim withdrawing $4,200 from the ATM. The victim then drove to a nearby Beverage Barn where he parked his car and went inside the store. Police say that's when the suspects smashed the victim's driver side window and stole the money.
Police say they struck again on Tuesday at the TD Bank on Rockaway Turnpike in Lawrence. Police tell News 12 the suspects spotted the victim withdrawing $7,000 in cash and put it in a black duffel bag. They say that's when the suspects followed the victim to an undisclosed location where he parked the car and left the money inside. Police say they smashed the car window and took off with the cash.
Diego Garzan Salamanca, Marco Alberto Guerra, Oscar Corriente and Sergio Castaneda-Ronderos were arraigned Wednesday on charges of felony grand larceny, criminal mischief and conspiracy. Bail has been set at $30,000 for each defendant.
