A new Bronx church held a meet-and-greet to welcome in the Morrisania community.
The Church of Christ on Fulton Avenue, which held its first worship service last month, opened its doors to a neighborhood celebration. The event included tours, free health screenings, live entertainment and games.
The building has been in the borough since 1896 and was bought by the Church of Christ after the last congregation moved out two years ago. Renovations began last fall and include new stained glass windows, an altar and crystal chandeliers.
