A new bill is aimed at making sure homeless Brooklyn families don't get placed in dangerous housing conditions. The bill will prevent city agencies from placing homeless families or residents suffering from HIV or AIDS in buildings with multiple violations. City Council Speaker Christine Quinn will introduce the bill to the entire council next week. The General Welfare Committee must review the legislation before the City Council can cast a final vote.
