A new public park will be opening up in June outside the former Domino Sugar Refinery in Williamsburg.
Officials says the new green space will be called Domino Park and will be located near 325 Kent Ave.
They say the park is expected to be over a quarter-mile long with over 30 historic artifacts, giving residents a glimpse into the past.
"There are a lot of strong feelings in this neighborhood about overdevelopment and about new development," says Two Trees Management Managing Director Dave Lombino, the company behind the construction of the park.
Lombino says after the park is complete, redeveloping the former refinery, which shut down in 2004, into an office building is next. However, he says that plan has gotten some pushback.
Domino Park is expected to open on June 10.
