A group made up of dozens of young New York musicians won a junior steel pan competition Saturday.
2014 marks the first year of Panfest, a steel drumming festival.
Organizers say the competition gives local steel bands a chance to compete and perform.
Nearby residents danced to the rhythms.
The winning team, the New York Pan Stars, brings home the trophy at the inaugural event.
