The New York Public Library is expanding its Wi-Fi lending program.

The library has partnered with Google and Sprint to offer 5,000 free hot spots for students and their families.

"They go to the library daily in order to use the computer because they don't have computers or wireless service at home," says P.S. 67 Principal Kyesha Jackson.

Jackson says about 90 percent of students don't have Wi-Fi, which New York Public Library officials say many take for granted.



"One in five citizens cannot do their math homework as assigned at home," says library director Tony Marx.

The hot spots are available for a full year to each family.
