As the city continues to battle hate crimes, New York Attorney General Letitia James participated in a "Stop Asian Hate Virtual Panel" Thursday night.
Democratic Rep. Grace Meng hosted the event in which the panel addressed the rise in hate and violence against the Asian community over the past year.
James encouraged residents to report any acts of hate to the Hate Crimes Task Force or the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force.
"We cannot and will not sit idly by and do absolutely nothing, nothing. Doing absolutely nothing is not an option, my friends. And that is what brings us here tonight as we host this roundtable discussion with all of you to address and combat these very issues," James said.
The virtual meeting not only addressed hate crimes within the Asian community, but also encouraged inclusivity toward all ethnicities and groups.
