? New York City buses received unflattering awards Wednesday, deeming them the slowest and least reliable among all of the bus routes the city has to offer.
The New York Public Interest Research Group Straphangers? Campaign has given out the dishonorable mentions in an effort to improve MTA service around the city.
For the second year in a row, the B63 won the ?Pokey? award, which means it is the slowest bus in Brooklyn. Transit officials say it crawls along its route at 4.9 mph and riders say they are often late when riding it.
The ?Schleppie? award for the most unreliable bus was given to the B44 and when News 12 Brooklyn investigated, the bus came infrequently and often bunched up at stops, with two or more buses coming at the exact same time.
Riders are hopeful that the poor reviews will inspire the MTA to improve the bus system.
