A former Air National Guardsman and NYPD detective from West Harrison was remembered during a ceremony Tuesday in the Bronx.
The widow of Technical Sgt. Joseph Lemm was brought to tears as she returned to the NYPD's 50th Precinct, where a memorial was set up in the lobby for Lemm, who worked there during his 15-year career with the department.
Many stopped by the precinct to pay tribute to Lemm, who was also known as "Superman."
The 45-year-old husband and father of two was one of six Americans killed late December in Afghanistan when his patrol was attacked by a suicide bomber. He was on his third tour of duty at the time.
Lemm is survived by his wife and two sons.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for the Lemm family by their friends in West Harrison.
