NYCHA resident launches food biz after city training program
One NYC Housing Authority resident has quickly gone from baking cookies in her apartment to having her own business, drawing people from all over the city to have a delicious and fun brunch.
Niani Taylor is a graduate of NYCHA Food Business Pathways, a free business training program administered by the Department of Small Business Services that helps NYCHA residents start and grow food businesses in the city.
Taylor created her business, Munch Hours, about a year ago and prepares her food at a food incubator called Brooklyn FoodWorks.
Taylor does this all while working a full-time job, but brunch is what she's passionate about. She plans to expand her business and is looking forward to what the future holds.
