The city is hoping to make things easier to feed the hungry, as any adult, regardless if they have a child or not will be able to pick up free meals from a public school.

This initiative involves several organizations throughout the city. The grab-and-go program for the past two weeks has been providing students free meals as they continue to remotely learn from home. News 12 is told more than 1 million to-go meals have been picked up already

Those who need the free meals have more than 400 location options. Students and their families are able to grab meals from schools from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. After those hours any adult has until 1:30 p.m. to pick up a grab-and-go meal.

The city says the goal is to provide free meals to all New Yorkers.

Those looking to find a school can visit the Department of Education website or go to CommunityFoodAdvocatesNYC.org.
