A 66-year-old woman pushing a 2-year-old girl in a stroller was fatally struck by a Dodge Ram on Bath Avenue in Brooklyn, according to the NYPD. 

Law enforcement officials say it happened around 1:09 p.m. Initial investigations revealed that a Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling southbound and struck the woman. She was taken to Langone Hospital and pronounced dead. 

The 2-year-old child suffered scrapes and bruises and is currently in stable condition, according to police. 

Police say the driver of the Dodge Ram is a 56-year-old man who remained at the scene following the incident. 

The NYPD's Highway Collision Unit is investigating the incident.
