NYPD Explorers receive surprise shopping spree worth $200
Some children with the NYPD Explorers program were honored by the department on Saturday with a surprise shopping spree.

Select children were given $200 to choose a gift at the Gateway Center Target as a way to thank them for their hard work and dedication.
The money for the program comes from the founder of Holidays with Heroes, Michael Bolus.
The 45th Precinct in the Bronx had an extra Explorer represented to honor Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz, the 15-year-old who was killed earlier this year.
Apart from rewarding the children for all their hard work, the event was also meant to be an example of how kids and law enforcement can coexist in their communities.
