The NYPD is hoping to crack down on summer gunfire by making gun buyback opportunities available around the clock.
Police say the doors to every precinct will be open 24 hours a day and seven days a week for people to receive cash payments in exchange for their weapons. They say no identification is required and no questions will be asked.
Officials say more than 6,000 guns have already been surrendered since the program's inception.
