NYPD: Man dead, 2 others injured in overnight shootings across the Bronx

The NYPD responded to reports of someone shooting into a crowd just before 2 a.m. at 3271 Hughes Ave.

Police say a string of overnight shootings across the Bronx has left one man dead and two others injured.
The NYPD responded to reports of someone shooting into a crowd just before 2 a.m. at 3271 Hughes Ave.
When officers arrived, they say they found a 21- and 22-year-old man with gunshot wounds. They say the 21-year-old was shot twice in the chest and was pronounced dead.
The other victim was transported to the hospital where he is expected to be OK.
The NYPD responded to another shooting in the Highbridge section of the borough just after 2 a.m. at 1085 Nelson Ave.
News 12 was told the victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive. However, police say the victim refused to speak to them.
No arrests have been made in either incident.
