NYPD: Man shot and killed near Morris Heights bodega; no arrests

Police responded to a 911 call of shots fired around 4:45 a.m. in front of 1538 University Ave.

The NYPD says a man was shot and killed near a bodega in Morris Heights.
Police responded to a 911 call of shots fired around 4:45 a.m. in front of 1538 University Ave.
Officers found a 42-year-old man with gunshot wounds to the right arm and torso. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln where he died.
The nearby bodega is closed as police continue to investigate and examine a bullet hole in the glass door.
There is no word yet on the identity of the victim.
Police say there have been no arrests and that the shooter was a man.
