NYPD promises to keep High Holy Days safe
As the Jewish High Holy Days approach, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly is informing Jewish residents that no specific threats against the Jewish community have been made.
The NYPD is assuring residents they will be kept safe throughout their important holidays. Kelly spoke at the High Holy Day meeting to assure residents increased security would be provided throughout the Jewish holidays.
The commissioner is imploring residents to immediately report suspicious activity to the proper authorities.
Rosh Hashanah begins September 12 and Yom Kippur begins September 21. Both holy days begin at sundown.
