April 20 has become a day of celebration for cannabis lovers worldwide, but before consuming, the New York Office of Cannabis Management wants to make sure those consuming are of age and doing so safely.
They urge New Yorkers to only purchase from one of the eight legal, regulated cannabis dispensaries in the state to help support the social justice and equity goals of the licensed businesses and to help people partake in marijuana safely.
“Start low and go slow, start with a lower dosage of edibles and you’ll know how much cannabis or THC is in a particular product,” said Chris Alexander, executive director of OCM.
Alexander says that like alcohol, it’s important to remember when consuming cannabis in any form to not operate a vehicle.
