Officials: 3 people involved in Brooklyn gang, death of 1-year-old sentenced to prison

The three individuals were convicted in April for multiple shootings across the borough.

Three members of the Brooklyn-based Hoolie gang will be spending the next few decades behind bars, officials say.
The three individuals were convicted in April for multiple shootings across the borough, including the 2020 death of 1-year-old Davell Gardner Jr. in Bed-Stuy.
The Brooklyn District Attorney announced Dashawn Austin was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison. Prosecutors say he shot and killed the 22-month-old in the summer 2020.
Two other men were sentenced to 40 years in prison.
A fourth defendant will be sentenced next month.
