Officials say they got a call about a gas leak in Brownsville Saturday.

They say someone reported the leak nearby 99 Chester St.

When crews arrived to the area, they say they verified the leak and are currently working to fix it.

Although fumes from the gas could be smelled in front of a church in the area, officials say the gas leak is not sourced from there.

Authorities say the gas is coming from a construction site and suspect a supply line may have been accidently struck.
