Local officials, community groups and veterans are spearheading the charge to renovate a war memorial at Cadman Plaza Park.
Elected officials gathered at the Brooklyn War Memorial Tuesday along with representatives of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and the Cadman Park Conservancy to unveil a proposed makeover for the landmark.
Renovations include a new visitor center, elevator access, and restorations on the park's Wall of Honor.
The proposal would cost about $12 million -- funding that is not yet available, officials say.
