A restaurant ravaged by a fire at the start of this year is getting creative to continue feeding hungry customers. Restaurant owner Mathew Glazier shows News 12 how Morgan's Brooklyn Barbecue in Prospect Heights is bouncing back.
Inside the kitchen at Tiny's Cantina in Prospect Heights, dishes for Morgan's Brooklyn Barbecue are being cooked. A fire tore through Morgan's in January 2021. While it's boarded up, nearby Tiny's is using its kitchen to serve up online orders for Morgan's.
"We were busier than we ever thought we would be, and we even sold out of some items," says Glazier.
Glazier owns both Tiny's Cantina and Morgan's Brooklyn Barbecue. He said the inspiration to reopen this way came from customers.
"E-mails asking us, when are we reopening? So, we were like, Tiny's is great. It's packed but it's a big kitchen here so we can do both or try to do both."
On Monday night, Glazier tried out the new system and their brisket and sausage sold out.
The owner of Morgan's says there are still a lot of repairs that still need to be done inside of the restaurant, but the barbecue place should be ready to be reopened sometime early next year.
